How to replicate the debian build system?

I was wondering if somebody could point me to information on how I
could go about creating my own Debian build system.  I would like to
replicate the system that Debian uses to do their builds.

Any pointers on finding more information?

I have found mentions of DAK, buildd, wanna-build, and sbuild.
